Founded in Paris in 2021, Galerie Jaïs explores the links between art, design, and decorative arts, from the post-war period to contemporary art. It pays particular attention to French design from the 1980s and 1990s, a pivotal moment of formal renewal that marked the return of decorative arts in France and on the international scene.

Adrien Jaïs, the founder of this project, brings to the gallery expertise gained from his dual training in law (Panthéon-Assas University) and art history (Sorbonne University). Each piece is considered for its aesthetic value, provenance, and historical significance.

Drawing on archival research and thorough documentation, the gallery is dedicated to the study and promotion of leading designers such as Élisabeth Garouste & Mattia Bonetti, Éric Schmitt, and Jacques Jarrige. At the same time, it seeks to restore visibility to figures who have sometimes been forgotten. It also nurtures a new generation of creators, including François Lafortune, whose PLI collection, presented in Paris in February 2024, reflects the gallery’s commitment to the most innovative contemporary expressions.

Meanwhile, the gallery applies its extensive market expertise to support art lovers, collectors, and professionals by providing personalized research, thorough documentation of works, and accurate identification of pieces.
