Garouste & Bonetti - Shelf

€24,000.00

Designed by Elizabeth Garouste and Mattia Bonetti, this shelving unit bears witness to the historic collaboration between the design duo and the En Attendant les Barbares gallery. Its execution was entrusted to Pierre Basse, longtime assistant to Diego Giacometti.

The entire structure features a highly textured hand-wrought iron finish. In contrast to similar models from the same series, the shelves themselves have also received this specific treatment. According to current research, this piece is the only known example to feature bronze finials with this specific design.

This particular work originates from the private collection of Frédéric de Luca, founder of the En Attendant les Barbares gallery; the piece is notably documented in his apartment by photographer Roland Beaufre. The unit is stamped with the "B.G." monogram and the En Attendant les Barbares gallery mark.
