Created in 1988, the Marie-Antoinette console is one of three pieces from the eponymous collection, conceived on the occasion of the bicentennial of the French Revolution. Produced in only twenty examples, this is number five.

It was acquired on September 29, 1994, from the gallery En Attendant les Barbares. Originally designed in two color variations, white and black, it remains, to this day, the only known gilded version.

The console is crafted from wrought iron with a gold-painted finish and features a glass top.

It is monogrammed ‘ES’ and bears the En Attendant les Barbares gallery mark, as well as the edition number
5/20.
